Vallejo Speedway Hardtops & Memories Pages
DOK
I am really enjoying your Vallejo Speedway photos pages...haven't finished looking at them all yet, but I will soon. BTW, I was a spectator at the Vallejo Speedway in the early 60's when I was in High School in Santa Rosa (Montgomery H.S., class of '64. Back in the day, we would hitch a ride with some of the older guys who had their drivers licences and could borrow their old mans car for the night. I was 14 when I first started going the the Saturday night Hard Top races in Vallejo.
Of course with that kind of upbringing, the most natural thing happened...I started racing street stocks at the Petaluma Speedway in '69, '70 and '71. As a side note...I'm now 61 and still racing and winning now and again at the Bracket drags at Infineon Raceway).
I haven't run across too many photos from the Petaluma Speedway. Therefore, I am enclosing some personal photos for you to post on your site if you wish.

Hope you enjoy these photos and post them on your site if you like.
Regards, Bob Choisser, Vacaville, CA.

Bob Choisser shares some photos & memories of
Vallejo & Petaluma Speedways.    Thanks Bob!
PHOTO-1: is of me (85N) in my Hugger Orange '60 Ford outrunning Carmen Cavallero in his '55 Chevy (73N). This photo was taken by the track photog (?) during the 1970 season.

PHOTO-2: is of driver Kenny Kahler of Petaluma and driver Bob Wakefield of (I believe) Pittsberg and his No. 26N Dodge...judging from the condition of the car, it was late in the season.
PHOTO-3: it's me again and my crew Tom McGrath (engine builder) on the car; Frank Hill (welder) in sunglasses and me (driver) in my orange "racing" jacket). It's also easy to see the time was very late in the season and the car was also on it's 4th and last motor and was currently running 8th in the point standings.
PHOTO-4: Kenny Kahler (on the right) with his pit man (don't know his name) and their NO. 9N '55 Chevy.
PHOTO-5: It's us again Tom McGrath, Frank Hill and Bob Choisser having just finished our new race car the night before opening night of the 1970 racing season at Petaluma.
PHOTO-6: This is Terrance Lee of Sebastopol with his '57 Plymouth No. 67N also near the end of the 1970 season at Petaluma Speedway.
