Vallejo Speedway was a place I spent alot of time at when I was kid back in the 60's and early 70's. Even though the track is long gone, I thought by putting up some of these old photos it would live on ........ If you have any photos of any cars from any division and want them on these pages E-MAIL them in jpg format and I'll keep on adding pages so we can all, LOOK BACK!

Special thanks to Danny Hendricks for supplying this photo
If you know who any of the un-named drivers in these photos let me know so I can post their names.
# 10 John Viel, # 21 Dave Logan as you can see this was before the cement crashwall ............... and someone has already claimed the back straight fence.
There was always close action, here Lonnie Kasier  #38 takes the low line around the #22 during a main event run.
Some times it was too close, I believe the # 97 car is Darrell Dudley
# 4 Ted Gratrix, leads # 2 Larry Damitz and # 7 Phil Pedlar
Openning day with the new cement crash wall in place, not sure what year this was, # 88 I think is Steve Mentch and # 3 John Viel
# 39 Dave Ellis heads up over te wall after contact with the # 80 car of Laney Westbrook
Move over buddy..... Not the best picture but I believe the # 9 D&S Gargage car is Gil Richerson
# 5  takes the checkered before another packed house at Vallejo. Huge crowds were the norm till the early 70's as the bayarea started to have the growth that gave way to the speedway finally closing in 1979
Remember when trophy queens wore clothes like this? Here Larry Damitz collects the hardware early in his career.
Let me check under your car for you........... 2 cars get together as you can see the driver in the # 40 is holding on!
A pack of hardtops in action  # 3 Larry Damitz ... If you look close in all of these photos there's not a muffler to be seen.......... If you look at Larry's car it has the old crackle pipes on it ..... now that's going back a ways
Send your old photos to be posted here!   Thanks,..... DOK
Thanks to Megan O'Keefe for scanning and sending them
# 12 Steve Mentch gets a little nudge from a fellow competitor.
