I remeber Roland Lokmor as a hardtop racer out at Vallejo Speedway when I was a kid. He was there running with the likes of Pedlar, Damtiz, Quinn, Logan, Geving, and many other top drivers of that day. What I didn't know was he also drove BCRA midgets, and was a driving force in the NCMA modified group. He son Mike still drives sprinters here in Northern California, along with Roland's grandson Brian. Roland is another Vallejo driver who is no longer with us, but won't be forgotten.       Mike, thanks for sharing these photos of Roland with us.

Here Roland stands next to his D & F Auto Salvage hardtop out of Concord, Ca. I believe this is at the old Contra Costa Speedway in Pacheco, which is now Highway 680 & 4 interchange.
A tangle with the fence at Pacheco wasn't about to stop him as you see in the next photo
If it wasn't for the bent left rear wheel the car dosen't look to bad for what it had just been though. The old hardtops were as tough as the men who drove them.
Here Roland leads Bill Hammond down the back chute at Vallejo Speedway
A big tangle of cars blocks the track as Roland has no place to hide, I'm not sure if this is Vallejo or Pacheco
Roland behind the wheel of the Bud's Richfield # 51 hardtop out at Vallejo Speedway.
This crew shot was taken in the pits at Vallejo Speedway. Check out the motor, is that 3 1 bbl carbs, no mufflers! Ficton shocks, 4 leaf springs. suspenion
Here Roland stands with his sedan hardtop at  Vallejo Speedway. Notice the crackle pipes on the exhaust system.
Rolands beautiful # 96 sedan hardtop leads the little six banger #43 during main event action at Vallejo Speedway
More wheel to wheel action. Here I believe Roland's on the inside of one of the Perry brothers.
All most a dead head coming down to the checkered flag, but Roland wins out.
Here's a shot of some of hard hitting action. I sure miss thoose days of watching the hardtops and drivers like Roland Lokmor.
